The doctors at the postmortem department of YCM Hospital were busy on Wednesday after two cases of suicides were reported.

In one incident, Kiran Mohan Chauhan, (23), a resident of Kalewadi hanged himself at his home late in the night. Chauhan was staying with his family.

According to friends, there was no reason for him to take such a drastic stage. "They were a happy family. We do not know why he committed suicide?" said a family friend on request of anonymity.

According to the police, the time of death is unknown as his sister-in-law had called him for dinner but he did not answer her calls. "Assuming that he must be sleeping, they did not disturb him. It was after his father reached home and they informed him that Kiran is not answering that they broke the window and got in," said More Sardar, Constable, Sanghvi police station. His body was sent for the post-mortem around 12 am.

In another case, an approximately 23-year-old unidentified man committed suicide at Pimpri Railway tracks.

According to the Pimpri police station, the incident happened around 8.30 pm some few meters away from the station. His body was sent for post-mortem around 12.30 am.
