The incident took place around 8 am when the family of four --Shinde, his wife Ashwini, six-year-old daughter Shravani and five-year-old son Piyush --were getting ready to leave for school.u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>Saying he had some urgent work, Shinde asked the other three members of his family to go to the terrace for a while. He then locked the door from inside and hanged himself with a nylon rope from a ceiling hook.u00a0Sources said the police quarters where the family resided was close to the police station.u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>After a half-hour wait, Shinde's wife started calling out to him, asking him open the door since the children wanted to leave for school.
