Bollywood actor Sanjya Dutt had a scare recently when a deadly venomous&nbsp;cobra was rescued from near his cell in Pune&rsquo;s Yerwada Central Jail.
The five-feet long cobra was found near the yard where Dutt is housed. The actor is being kept in a separate cell near Phashi yard while he serves out his 42-month prison term in the 1993 Bombay blasts case.

Talking to mid-day on condition of anonymity, a jail officer said, &ldquo;Dutt is being kept in a separate cell near Phashi yard in our prison and a week back, a snake was spotted near his cell where the inmates have been assigned the duty of ironing cloths. It was noon and Dutt was occupied in meeting daily target of making 100 paper bags. A loud noise came after the snake being found near his cell. Immediately, a snake catcher was alerted and he caught the snake.&rdquo;
He added, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s not the first occasion that a snake has been caught in the prison. Initially, Dutt was not aware about the incident and but was informed after he noticed a mob gathering near this cell. Dutt wasn&rsquo;t initially afraid, but was taken aback when told it&rsquo;s was a cobra.
The 55-year-old actor was convicted by a TADA court in 2013 for illegally possessing a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle, a part of the consignment of weapons and explosives brought to India for coordinated serial blasts that killed 257 people and injured over 700 in March 1993.
The Supreme Court had in March 2013 upheld his conviction under the Arms Act but reduced the six years to five. He had already served a-year-and-half behind the bars before the apex court's judgement and is undergoing the remaining sentence of 42 months.
