<div><b><span style="font-size: 12pt; ">Students upset as they say University of Pune wants month for corrections</span></b></div><div><br /></div><div><div>After about 62,000 students received their degrees from the University of Pune (UoP) at the 105th convocation of the varsity last week, more than 50 students from various faculties say they have received their certificates with errors in them.u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>Some students even alleged that they were being made to run from pillar to post to get their convocation certificates rectified.u00a0Though it takes about 10 days for the varsity to make corrections, the students have been allegedly told that it might take more than a month before they could get their certificates.u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>The students have received certificates with either their names or names of the faculties or subjects wrong on them.u00a0"My mother's name was spelt wrongly on the certificate. Though I brought it to their notice immediately after receiving the certificate, they told me to wait for a month before the error could be rectified," said a BA student.u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>Controller of Board and Examinations Dr S M Ahire downplayed the issue saying that it is usually a processing error by the centre for computing facilities. Ahire said such errors are trivial and take place every year.u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>"The certificates are printed in English and Marathi so the names printed on them might spell differently. The problem is not very significant and is only about the languages and rectification work usually takes time," Ahire said.</div></div>
