A day after 56-year-old builder Surendra Shah was hacked to death near Bhakti Dham in Kasarwadi, the Crime Branch (Unit III) of the city police yesterday arrested six people for the murder. Pic/Krunal Gosaviu00a0 The arrested persons were identified as Rajesh Baban Mote (30), Sagar Kamble (24), Sanjog Nalawade (25), Satish Pillai (24), Mangesh Pardeshi (27) and Ganesh Bhor (24). &ldquo;Our Crime Branch (Unit III) Police Inspector Mohan Vidhate, whose team was investigating the case, received information that Mote and his other five accomplices had attacked Shah with a sharp weapon near his office at Bhakti Dham and all were in preparation to flee the city on Thursday afternoon in a car,&rdquo; Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Anant Shinde said. Addressing a press conference, Shinde said nakabandi was ordered at various places to look for the car with the registration number MH-14 BA 1380. &ldquo;As per the information, nakabandi was put up in various junctions in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Bhosari, and on Thursday afternoon we arrested all the six suspects from Rudra Hotel in Bhosari,&rdquo; Shinde said. Murder motive Shinde said there was some litigation on between Shah and Mote regarding a piece of land in Kasarwadi and Shah had gone to his office and held a meeting with Mote and the others to reach to a compromise, but the meeting did not prove fruitful. &ldquo;After the meeting, Shah started approaching his car and while he was walking, Mote and others attacked him with a sharp weapon and hacked him to death,&rdquo; Shinde said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Bansode said that Mote, a labour contractor, had a case of body offence lodged against him.u00a0
