86 transgenders try luck for MHADA flats

The authority had, for the first time, included the 'other' option for gender in its application forms for the lottery system of giving out flats

Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) officials see this as a sign of changing times. In a first for the organisation, 86 persons from the transgender community have applied for the imminent lucky draw of flats, as evident with the aforementioned number of hopefuls having selected the ‘other’ gender in the application form.
