Rao had met her in 2010 in Paris when the designer had launched a capsule make-up collection for the French luxury brand Lancôme. “She seemed to have everything, a career as a successful model, a career as a well-established designer, collaborations with make-up and jewellery brands and a partner in Mick Jagger,” says Rao saddened at the memory of one so young and glamorous meeting with such a sad end. “I remember she was in a beautifully designed outfit of her own creation in a metallic grey that was similar to her metallic eye shadow. She wore her own make-up collection flawlessly — it was dark silver flecked metallic eye shadow and a blood red lipstick and grey nail polish,” says the style writer.
