In yet another example of how the government system allows the installation of important public facilities to get delayed, it has come to light that even after repetitive assurances by the PMC's health department to start an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Kamala Nehru Hospital, the project for the Pune's big civil hospital is pending since the last two years.
At last the health department has included the pending issue on its agenda, By the month-end it is expected that the hospital will get the necessary approval from the central government to start an ICU having a capacity of 10 beds.

At last: Two years ago, the PMC spent Rs 52 crore to renovate Kamala Nehru hospital situated in Mangalwar Peth, which included the facility of an ICU. File Pic
