Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran has expressed deep sorrow over the Ahmedabad Plane Crash and announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of the victims.
“We are deeply anguished by the tragic event involving flight AI 171. No words can adequately express the grief we feel at this moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and with those who have been injured,” said Chandrasekaran, in a statement released on Thursday evening.
The group has also pledged to cover all the medical expenses for those injured in the Ahmedabad Plane Crash and ensure they receive the care and support they require during recovery.
In addition to personal assistance, the Tata Group will also extend support for the rebuilding of the BJ Medical College hostel, which was struck during the crash. The building, a doctors’ residence located near the airport perimeter, suffered significant structural damage after a London-bound Air India flight, AI 171, crashed into the structure, shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad.
“We remain steadfast in standing with the affected families and communities during this unimaginable time,” Chandrasekaran added.
