But bike lovers aren't complaining about the fastest bike in the city that's more powerful than a Ford Ikon

There's a lean, mean machine out there on the roads and it's called the Suzuki Intruder M1800R, a half cruiser-half sports bike that's more powerful than the Ford Ikon.

Proud: Actor and producer Yasho Sagar and his Suzuki Intruder M1800R

Bangalore-based actor and producer Yasho Sagar coughed up Rs 15 lakh for the 1783 cc bike, the first in the city and the only one so far.

"It's the fastest in the city," claimed Sagar. "I was impressed with Suzuki's Hayabusa and Intruder. But I opted for the latter because of its power and style."

Sagar bought the Intruder, also known as the Boulevard in the market, 20 days ago. He plans to feature it in his next movie but "as of now, I'm enjoying the ride," he said.

With GSX-R sports bike technology, the 319-kg bike can speed up to 240 kmph. With tyres as thick as a jeep's, the bike is equipped with a V-twin engine that promises better performance.

The bike can do 0-100 kph in 3.8 seconds while the Lamborghini Diablo, a high-performance sports car, does it in 4.9 seconds.

It has 160Nm of mammoth torque while others like the Hero Honda Karizma, a 223cc bike, has 18.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.u00a0

With about 20 litres in the fuel tank, the machine runs on Octane petrol and has a mileage of 10 km per litre.

"It's one of the most powerful bikes that Suzuki has produced," said Vijay Kumar, an auto consultant. "It is one of the most sought-after high-end bikes and also one of the costliest."

As a result, "the demand is less compared to other bikes. We have got one more bike after the first was delivered to Yasho Sagar last month," said Harish Wadhwa, CEO, Suzuki showroom, K H Road.
