Angry LGBT community to protest at Matunga today
Updated On: 15 December, 2013 04:20 AM IST | | Varun Singh
As part of a global protest spread over two dozen cities across the world, activists will voice their displeasure against the recent Supreme Court judgement and demand to repeal Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code
The recent Supreme Court judgement that declared homosexuality a criminal act came as a strong blow against the LGBT (lesbian gay bisexual and transgender) community but gay activists have managed to win the first war in their quest for justice and make their displeasure heard loud and clear. After the State government refused to give permission to conduct a protest march at Shivaji Park, the LGBT community will now hold the rally today at Maheshwari Udyan, Matunga at 3 pm.

Apart from Mumbai, protests will also be held at Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Berlin, Johannesburg, San Francisco, London and Toronto.Pic for representational purpose only
