Aligarh: An angry mob beat a robber to death after a gang robbed a house in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh town.

The robbers were decamping with cash and jewellery, police said. Six robbers attacked a farmer’s house in Sukhrawli village, gagged the family and held them hostage while looting valuables.

The family raised an alarm and neighbours came to their rescue. As the robbers tried to escape, the mob intercepted one of them and beat him to death.

The dead robber has not been identified.
