The eight-day-long art exhibition -- New City Limits -- ended on a high note on Sunday. The event, which saw participation from many children from nearby Koli villages, was held at the Vaikunthbhai Mehta Research Centre for Decentralised Industries.

Some of the works on display, such as Linear Extension, by Anupam Singh, included critical understanding of the process of development in urban and rural contexts.

A six-hour-long musical performance called Music of No Mind and a split-screen video work also caught many eyeballs.

The exhibition saw participation from 600 school kids from local various institutions. Most of the children belonged to the Koli community.

A special room was dedicated to the paintings and drawings made by the students.

For love of the art
Kush Badhwar (32), a filmmaker and initiator of the exhibition, said, “I had this idea in my mind and wanted to execute it so that art lovers in Navi Mumbai don’t have to go to South Mumbai. Another reason for organising this exhibition was to draw attention of children and youth towards arts and music. This exhibition is the outcome of the team’s hard work.” u00a0
