New Delhi: With the ice broken between the two warring factions, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and dissident party leader Yogendra Yadav today met for the first time in a court, after they were directed by a magistrate to appear before it.
The two leaders, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, met and interacted for around two minutes, sources said.
Sources said while Kejriwal and his deputy Sisodia came to court at around 1.45 PM, Yadav turned up a few minutes later.
"As soon as they met, both shared pleasantaries. Yadav asked him about his health and the two chatted for around two minutes," said a party volunteer.
This was for the first time that Yadav met Kejriwal ever since the conflict erupted. The two had not met since the oath-taking ceremony held on February 14 last year.
Kejriwal, Sisodia and Yadav were today forced to appear before a Delhi Court in a criminal defamation case after their failure to do so drew a stinging remark by the judge that they have "no respect for law".
Incidentally, last night leaders close to Kejriwal met Yadav at his residence after indulging in a slugfest for over three weeks.
Meanwhile, the volunteers expressed their happiness after a short, but unplanned meeting between the two leaders.
"The court managed to bring Arvind and Yogendra ji together. This is something which the volunteers could not do," quipped a party volunteer.
