Gangster-turned-builder Ashwin Naik today filed an anticipatory bail plea in the sessions court in the extortion and assault case registered against him.

Police had registered an extortion and assault case against Naik for allegedly attacking a civic contractor. The application will come up for hearing on Wednesday and the court has granted him protection from arrest for a day.
