Assam Assembly introduces UCC Bill, third state after Uttarakhand and Gujarat

The Assam government on Monday introduced the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill in the state Assembly, nearly two weeks after the state Cabinet approved the draft legislation.
If passed, Assam will become the third state in the country after Uttarakhand and Gujarat to enact a Uniform Civil Code law.
