The death toll in the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/assam-floods-over-100-families-displaced-as-dikhow-river-flood-devastates-kamalchapori-village-23642339" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Assam floods</a> has risen to 80, with two fresh fatalities reported, while more than 1.92 lakh people remain affected across five districts, according to the Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS) report as of July 31.
The flood-hit districts are Sivasagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon and Charaideo, where 379 villages have been affected by the deluge.
Of the two latest deaths, one was reported from Sivasagar and the other from Charaideo. Till July 30, the flood-related death toll stood at 78, reported ANI.&nbsp;
Over 15,000 hectares of crops damaged
According to the DRIMS report, 1,92,799 people have been affected by the floods, while 15,430 hectares of agricultural land have suffered damage.
The report also stated that no <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/assam-floods-over-7-lakh-affected-as-death-toll-climbs-to-68-23641918" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">incidents of urban flooding</a> have been reported from any district so far.
<h2>Gautam Adani donates Rs 11 crore for relief efforts</h2>
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to industrialist Gautam Adani for contributing Rs 11 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support flood relief and rehabilitation efforts.
In a post on X, Sarma said the contribution would strengthen the state's efforts to assist families affected by the floods.
"I was heartened to learn that Shri Gautam Adani Ji has made an online contribution of Rs 11 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to strengthen our efforts to assist those affected by the Assam floods," the Chief Minister said.
Sarma added that Adani had also mobilised resources to support relief efforts for thousands of affected families on the ground, reported ANI.&nbsp;
Praising the gesture, the Chief Minister said Adani's concern for the people of Assam and his willingness to support them during the crisis was commendable.
He also assured that every rupee contributed to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund would be utilised with "utmost care, integrity and accountability" to help rebuild the lives of those affected.
<h2>Kartik Aaryan, Muslim Rashtriya Manch extend support</h2>
Actor Kartik Aaryan has also contributed Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund for flood relief.
Thanking the actor, Sarma described the contribution as a "heartening gesture" that would aid <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/three-killed-as-heavy-rain-triggers-landslides-and-floods-across-kerala-imd-issues-red-alert-23642669" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">people affected by the floods.</a>
The Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has also announced financial assistance for flood-affected communities in Assam.
MRM National Convener Shahid Sayeed said that during an emergency meeting of the organisation's six-member core team at Kalam Bhavan in New Delhi, it was unanimously decided to contribute to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and intensify relief efforts for flood-affected families.
