Au00a0case of assault and preventing a government official from performing his duty has been filed by a PCB officer against sitting Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) member Prasad Kedari. The complaint was filed by Officer on Special Duty Babasaheb Kute. The alleged incident occurred when Kute was leading a team that was demolishing illegal structures late last month. According to sources, the officer was manhandled and verbally abused by Kedari while on duty.

Kedari denied there had been anything of the sort and said it was a simple disagreement between him and a PCB officer. "I had asked him not to come to my Ward (No 3), which he disregarded. He also did not have an order from PCB CEO Rachel Koshy," he said.

The alleged incident took place on September 29, when a PCB anti-encroachment squad was demolishing illegal structures near Bhopale Chowk. According to officials, Kedari reached the spot and asked for the demolition to stop. The squad was led by Kute, and Kedari allegedly asked him to stop the action.

An official present at the spot said an argument erupted between the two and Kedari abused and assaulted Kute. "Kute produced an official demolition notice and questioned his authority to interfere in official action," said the official, requesting anonymity.
