According to reports circulating on WhatsApp, a woman who was frustrated by waiting in line at an ATM in Mayur Vihar Phase 3 in New Delhi took off her shirt in protest against the shortage of the currency by the ban imposed on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.

Police at the Ghazipur police station claimed the person involved in the incident is a transgender who wasn't allowed to stand in the queue. Crowds outside banks and ATMs across India showed no signs of abating on Sunday as people line up to exchange demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes for new ones.
The stunt however seemed to have worked in her favour, because after brief questioning, the woman was taken to a nearby ATM where she was able to withdraw cash.
Although it's been a week since the announcement, situation outside the banks and ATM's have failed to improve. With serpentine queues at every branch of every bank, people are beginning to lose out on their patience resulting in adverse steps in many parts of the country.
