Automated barricades, Id cards to secure UoP

In view of a security guard's murder on campus last year, varsity's specially appointed security committee comes up with extensive plan to strengthen all entry points with advanced technology, including usage of radio-frequency identification cards and automatic boom barriers, to minimise human interface
Security is the buzzword these days at University of Pune (UoP). While a probe into the murder of guard on campus in May 2012 has produced no results so far, the varsity is gearing up to take concrete measures in order to ensure close every visitor entering the 411-acre campus is kept under close watch.
