Paying homage to the late Sena supremo Bal Thackeray at the BMC’s general body meeting yesterday, Law Committee Chairman and corporator Raju Pednekar called for the inclusion of the leader’s life in state board textbooks, immediately causing widespread speculation.

In order to find out the feasibility of the proposal, MiD DAY approached N K Jarag, the director of the State Council Educational Research and Training (SCERT) who pointed out that special permission from the government would be required to incorporate events and incidents that took place after the year 2000, in history textbooks.
