Unhappy with the status of the ongoing police investigations in the Bandra acid attack case, the victim&rsquo;s father Amar Singh Rathi is now planning on forwarding letters addressed to the chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, western railway authorities and commissioner of police demanding a CID or CBI probe. <img alt="Bandra acid attack victim's father wants CID or CBI to probe case" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/may/Amarsingh-Rathi.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 357px;" /> Preeti&#39;s father Amar Singh Rathi On May 2, just as Preeti Rathi and her family members had alighted at Bandra Terminus, a young man flung acid at her severely injuring her right eye and wind and food pipes. The accused is since absconding. Preeti had arrived in Mumbai from Delhi to report for her first job as a nurse in Ashwini Hospital in Colaba. In his letter, Amar Singh said that the police and Government Railway Police (GRP) officials are not taking adequate interest in nabbing the culprit who brutally injured his daughter. <img alt="Bandra acid attack victim's father wants CID or CBI to probe case" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/may/Acid-victim.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 554px;" /> Sketch of the accused He further requested the authorities to effectively tackle the case in order to deliver justice to Preeti who is recuperating in the ICU of Byculla&rsquo;s Masina hospital. &ldquo;We are uncertain about how long it will take to nab the culprit. We can only hope the government will take note of our plight and accelerate the process,&rdquo; said Amar Singh. He further added that Preeti continues to communicate with her family and hospital staff via written notes, as she is unable to open her left eye after the right one was left severely damaged following the attack. Her condition now continues to remain stable but critical. Dr Suhas Abhyankar, plastic surgeon at Masina hospital said, &ldquo;Though she is now able to breathe on her own without any ventilator support, her injuries are very severe and it will take weeks before she can undergo even a minor surgery. The infection has been brought under control and the swelling around her face has reduced, but she has a long way to go before we can say she is out of danger.&rdquo; The victim&rsquo;s relatives are now staying at Sant Gadge Maharaj Dharmashala after a social activist came forward to help the family on Saturday.u00a0
