Bangalore art gallery forced to remove nude paintings of deities after threats

Three nude paintings of Hindu gods and goddesses by an up and coming artist, exhibited in the art gallery of Chitrakala Parishath, were on Tuesday removed in the wake of threat of protest over phone and a request by the police.

The three paintings out of the around other 40 paintings of gods and goddesses exhibited in the gallery were removed in the wake of threat of protest by the public over phone and also a request from police that it might create a law and order problem, Chief Administrator Officer of Chitrakala Parishath Shridhar told PTI.u00a0

The paintings were the works of Arvind Sainath Krishnamani, he said.u00a0
