<p>A training <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/plane-carrying-maharashtra-deputy-cm-ajit-pawar-crash-lands-in-maharashtras-baramati-23614019" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">aircraft </a>operated by Redbird crashed due to a technical snag in Maharashtra&rsquo;s Baramati on Wednesday, officials said.</p>
<p>The incident took place near Gojubavi village, adjacent to the Baramati airstrip area, triggering panic in the area.</p>
<p>The incident occurred at 8.50 am, Pune Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill told PTI.</p>
<h2>Aircraft was flying at low altitude before crash landing, say eyewitnesses</h2>
<p>"As per preliminary information received from eyewitnesses, the aircraft was flying at a comparatively low altitude when it developed a technical malfunction. During the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/baramati-plane-crash-training-aircraft-crashes-near-maharashtras-baramati-pilot-escapes-safely-23630229" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">crash landing</a>, one side of the aircraft reportedly hit a light pole before it struck the ground," he said.</p>
<h2>Trainee pilot escapes unhurt</h2>
<p>According to preliminary reports, the trainee pilot onboard escaped safely and did not suffer any major injuries. The exact cause of the crash, however, is yet to be ascertained.</p>
<h2>Investigation underway</h2>
<p>Police and local authorities rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and launched an investigation.</p>
<h2>Aviation safety concerns resurface</h2>
<p>Officials said a detailed technical inspection of the wreckage will be carried out to determine the reason behind the crash, according to reports.</p>
<p>The incident has once again brought attention to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/ajit-pawar-plane-crash-month-after-ncp-chiefs-death-aaib-submits-interim-probe-report-here-are-some-of-the-key-findings-23618773" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">aviation safety in Baramati</a>, coming just months after a plane crash involving Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in February this year.</p>
<p>"Necessary inquiry and further action are underway," the official added.</p>
<p>Aircraft from the same company have previously also been involved in accidents in the district.</p>
