The MSRTC plans to tie up with MMRDA to run eco-friendly feeder services from the business hub to Bandra, Kurla and Sion stations
BEST’s loss may turn out to be MSRTC’s gain. While the Bombay Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) company is yet to respond to a year-old proposal by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to run a dedicated bus service from the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Bandra and Sion -- the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has jumped at the opportunity. In a proposal submitted to MMRDA, the MSRTC has said that it wants to start dedicated bus services from BKC to a few important locations in the city.

If MSRTC’s proposal is accepted, then apart from the current fleet of double deckers, eco-friendly buses will ply on routes from BKC to Sion and Kurla stations. File Pic
