To help you spend quality time with friends despite your busy professional life, Vandana Chavan, former mayor of Pune, started the Busy Bee Club. "In today's world, you hardly get time to catch up with friends. Every professional feels the need to socialise, but it's difficult to extract time out of our busy schedules. So, I thought of starting a group that will help women achievers unwind, revive and gel with each other," Chavan said. The club, however, is open to men as well. Women rule With a strength of 65 members, all women, Busy Bees meets on the last Friday of every month from 6.30 pm to 9 pm. While an hour is dedicated to discussing latest issues like stress management, anger management, recession and global warming affecting the world today, the remaining time is used for recreational activities like games, painting and other creative things. "The club is meant for those who value bonding and believe life is about simple things. This club is for people to de-stress, unwind and find the time to laugh. Ego clashes do not have a place here and the club is unaffected by a person's high or low profile. The club is meant for like-minded people to help them forget their worries," added Chavan. Unwind and relax Vidula Tokekar, an entrepreneur who runs an outsourcing firm and is associated with the club, believes it provides a good opportunity for women to relax after a tiring week. "It gives a platform for ladies to bond with other like-minded women. We are all unique in our own way and yet, we share the same wavelength." Dr Shilpa Pendse, a homeopath and a core member of the club, said, "Getting associated with the club has been an interesting experience. We have the liberty to plan and execute events the way we want and get to enjoy Friday evenings together. "There are entrepreneurs, doctors and homemakers in the club. Utmost care is taken to ensure all women get a chance to open up and enjoy."
