A police constable was suspended after a purported video showing him using an AK-47 rifle during a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/photo/in-photos-left-wing-students-clash-with-police-during-bihar-bandh-over-neet-paper-leak-112201/1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">student protest in Bihar&rsquo;s Siwan</a> district on July 25 went viral on social media.
Siwan SP Puran Kumar Jha said, &ldquo;The constable has been suspended. Immediate departmental proceedings have also been initiated against him.&rdquo; &ldquo;No one was injured in the firing,&rdquo;.&nbsp;
The Congress slammed the BJP over the alleged incident, with Rahul Gandhi demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s apology and action against those who &ldquo;attacked&rdquo; the students.&nbsp;
In a post on X, Gandhi said, &ldquo;The entire system is downright murderous against students. Reports are coming in that AK-47s have been fired at protesting students.&rdquo;
