Bihar election 2025 result: Early trends show NDA leading significantly

Bihar election 2025 result: Early trends show NDA leading significantly

Early trends on the day of vote counting in Bihar show the ruling NDA leading 161 assembly seats, as compared to 78 of the opposition Mahagathbandhan as of 10:20 am on Friday, according to trends available on the Election Commission's website.

The BJP, during the initial phase of counting as per the Election Commission, was leading in 72 seats, the JD(U) in 71, the LJP (Ram Vilas) in 138 and HAMS in four. Moreover, the opposition RJD was leading in 43 seats, and the Congress in eight seats. 


Furthermore, the Plurals Party and an independent were leading in one seat each.  The counting of votes is underway for 243 constituencies on Friday, which will decide the future of Bihar for the next five years. 



As reported by news agency PTI, BJP's Shreyasi Singh was leading in Jamui by 2,539 votes till 9:15 am, over her nearest rival, RJD candidate Mohammad Shamsad Alam.

Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son and Tejashwi Yadav’s elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, was in third spot in Mahua after the first round of counting. Tej Pratap Yadav is fighting from the Mahua constituency, representing JJD. 

As per the Election Commission’s website, LJP (RV)'s Sanjay Kumar Singh was leading over RJD's Mukesh Kumar during the initial phase of counting. 

While Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha was trailing in Lakhisarai, Congress candidate Amaresh Kumar was leading by just 79 votes as the vote counting started on Friday, reported PTI. 

JDU’s Anant Kumar Singh, who has been one of the most talked-about persons during the Bihar assembly election, was also leading in Mokama over his nearest rival, Veena Devi of the RJD, during the early hours of Friday as vote counting started. 

After the first round of counting concluded, RJD's Rit Lal Roy, who fought the polls from jail, was also leading in Danapur by 7,936, while BJP's Ram Kripal Yadav was trailing.

BJP's Nitin Nabin was leading by 2,043 votes in Bankipur, while RJD candidate Rekha Kumari was trailing. CPIM(L) Liberation's Sandeep was ahead, while Saurav was ahead in Paliganj by 241 votes, while LJP (RV)'s Sunil Kumar was trailing as the first round of counting concluded.
