Bihar elections are just around the corner, with the NDA already trying their level best to stay ahead of the opposition. The INDIA bloc also seems to be quite progressive about its approach to contesting the assembly elections in Bihar.
As reported by news agency PTI, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi is scheduled to kickstart the Bihar Assembly elections campaign with "Seemanchal Nyay Yatra" from September 24 to September 27 in the Seemanchal region of Bihar.
AIMIM president Owaisi, during the Yatra, will be holding road shows and corner meetings in various Assembly constituencies of the Seemanchal region, as per AIMIM’s official release.
Moreover, the Hyderabad MP will also launch the ‘Seemanchal Nyay Yatra’ from Kishanganj to unite the people for the development and to deliver justice for the Seemanchal region, it said.
The official release by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen stated that “Owaisi has been highlighting the backwardness of Seemanchal. He also introduced a private members' bill in the Lok Sabha demanding the setting up of the 'Seemanchal Region Development Council' to end the backwardness in the region, under Article 371 of the Constitution, as cited by news agency PTI.
Earlier during the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, AIMIM contested in 25 Assembly Constituencies and won five seats. All the seats that AIMIM won were in the Seemanchal region of Bihar.
Considering that these Bihar elections could be a lot trickier for every party, the AIMIM is likely to contest more seats than it contested in the last elections. As per reports, there are indications that many influential political leaders and social workers are also willing to contest elections on AIMIM party tickets.
In view of making a strong hold, the Congress party has also been making significant strategies. Earlier on Monday, the All India Congress Committee announced that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, along with other prominent leaders, will be present at its working committee meeting in Patna on Wednesday, September 24.
Furthermore, the AICC Bihar in-charge, Krishna Allavaru, said on Monday that “the second war of independence in Bihar is a reason why the meeting has been scheduled in the state.”
While putting light on the INDIA bloc’s Chief Ministerial candidate in Bihar, the All India Congress Committee Bihar-in-charge said that “RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will be named as the chief ministerial candidate of the INDIA bloc, with a stamp of approval from the Congress,” as per PTI.
