The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Sunday announced seat sharing for Bihar Elections 2025. Both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) will contest on 101 seats each, while the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest 29 seats. The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) have been given six seats each, reported news agency ANI.

The NDA parties finalised the seat distribution through mutual consensus, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde said in a post on X.

“Organized and dedicated NDA… For the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, all members of the NDA family have completed the distribution of seats through mutual consensus in a cordial atmosphere. Leaders and workers of all NDA parties have joyfully welcomed this decision. All comrades are resolved to form an NDA government in Bihar once again,” Tawde wrote.

Meanwhile, Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan expressed confidence of the NDA retaining government in the state. “Bihar is ready – once again an NDA government, this time with full strength alongside #BiharFirstBihariFirst!” he tweeted.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and RLM chief and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Upendra Kushwaha also confirmed the finalisation of seat-sharing on their X handles.

JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad asserted that under Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the NDA is headed for a major victory.

The announcement follows intense discussions among NDA allies since the declaration of poll dates. A meeting of the BJP Central Election Committee was held in New Delhi on Saturday. LJP (Ram Vilas) also conducted a parliamentary board meeting chaired by Chirag Paswan to finalise seat-sharing.

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi arrived in Delhi ahead of talks with Congress Member of Parliament (MP) Rahul Gandhi on opposition Mahagathbandhan’s seat-sharing, ANI reported. Congress leaders Akhilesh Prasad Singh and Pawan Khera said discussions are ongoing, with final announcements expected soon.

The other parties that will contest in Bihar Elections 2025 include the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist), CPI, Communist Party of India (Marxist). The state will also see the entry of Prashant Kishor’s new party, Jan Suraaj.

Polls for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases: November 6 and 11, with counting to take place three days later.
