Hundreds of commuters had to face traffic snarls, as the city's BJP unit took to the streets to celebrate their party's victory in the Gujarat Assembly elections yesterday. Party workers thronged to the busy Appa Balwant Chowk at 11.30 am, throwing the traffic out of gear, which caused inconvenience to office-goers.
Around 500 BJP workers held a victory rally, and offered sweets to residents as news began to trickle in that Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s was heading for a landslide victory. But, since it was peak hours and many schools surround the area, the procession created a commotion for more than half-an-hour.
