BMC issues eviction notices to Campa Cola society residents

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued eviction notices today to occupants of the illegal floors of the beleaguered Campa Cola housing society at Worli here.

The eviction notice being issued is being viewed as the first decisive step by the civic body to demolish the 35 illegal floors in seven buildings of the housing society.
Earlier, the BMC had served two notices to residents living on the illegal floors, but the notices were declared null and void after the Supreme Court stayed the demolition of the illegal flats in May and October respectively.
