The Bombay High Court has asked the Maharashtra Government to revise electoral rolls, after admitting a batch of PILs that challenged the deletion of half a million names in voters’ lists in Mumbai and Pune.
However, the bench dismissed the PIL that sought a stay on the 2014 Lok Sabha poll results. The court directed the state to invite suggestions and objections by placing advertisements in three prominent newspapers in the cities, saying that electoral rolls were being revised.
