Later all the accused were handed over the police.

A senior police official from sector 24 police station said, "The incident occurred last Sunday at around 11 in the night. This is a new trend. However in most of the cases, we do not receive any kind of complaints."

"Generally those involved in these kinds of burglaries are outstation students belonging to different private and public universities located in Noida and Greater Noida. The calls are generally made between 10-11 in the night when the roads are isolated and a few employees working with such outlets also work hand-in-glove with the gang. In most of the cases students do it for fun and are often drunk," the officer pointed out.

The food joints have also complained to the mall authorities in the recent past. Vikas Tyagi, a manager at Shoprix mall, confirmed receiving over a dozenu00a0 complaints in the last two months.
