Burglary at cop's house

Burglars struck at a traffic cop's house at a police quarters in Shivajinagar yesterday and made away with Rs. 25,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.17 lakh.

Burglars struck at a traffic cop's house at a police quarters in Shivajinagar yesterday and made away with Rs. 25,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.17 lakh.
When Y C Shivamurthy, a traffic police constable at the Adugodi police station returned home at 10.30 pm, he found the thieves had entered in through the main door and made away with cash and valuables from an almirah.u00a0 "I had kept the money at home as my engagement was fast approaching," Shivamurthy said.
"He had first kept the gold jewellery in my house. He took the valuables to his place only last week," said his uncle Shivakumar who had also come to his house.
The police have registered a case and the investigations are on.
