Third such incident in two days

A Maruti esteem car caught fire in Saidul Ajaib area of south Delhi on Wednesday night. The incident was reported at 10.30 pm when the driver of the car, Satyaveer Singh, was going home after dropping the owner of the car and his family at Mehrauli.

When Singh, 28, reached Saidul Ajaib he saw smoke billowing out of the bonnet. He immediately stopped the car and came out. After a few moments, the vehicle went up in flames. He called the fire department but even before a fire tender reached the spot, the car had been burnt completely. It was the third such incident in the city in the last two days.

Two cars caught fire in the Subhash Nagar area of west Delhi on Monday night. The first incident was reported around 2 am when a car on its way to Ajay enclave area in Subhash Nagar caught fire while the second occurred in the same area ten minutes later.
