<p>A member of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/chhatrapati-sambhajinagar-hill-tragedy-local-leader-demands-for-protection-wall-at-khavdya-hill-23646991" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar</a> Zilla Parishad has demanded construction of a protection wall along the hill cliff, from where three members of a family fell to their deaths last week.</p>
<p>Sambhajinagar ZP Finance Committee Chairman Sachin Garad made this demand, saying several people have died by suicide from this point over several years.</p>
<h2>The incident</h2>
<p>Tragedy unfolded in the Tisgaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on August 21 when three members of a family &mdash; Murlidhar Chandgude, 48, his wife Sangita, and their 19-year-old son Kunal &mdash; died after falling from Khavdya Hill.</p>
<h2>Official speaks</h2>
<p>Garad said, &ldquo;In the past four years, 12 -13 people have died by suicide from here. Recently, three members of a <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/video/chhatrapati-sambhajinagar-tragedy-chilling-video-teen-on-cliff-of-hill-over-iphone-family-falls-to-death-1081360" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">family died</a> here. This happened when representatives of the administration and others were convincing the youth. Over the years, this place has become a suicide point.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&ldquo;To prevent recurrence of such an incident, I am going to take up this issue with the state government through the district administration,&rdquo; he added.</p>
