Says he meant no harm and was simply trying to save Rs 80, the price of a visitor's entry ticket

So, how far can you go to save an amount as meagre as Rs 80? Cau Toli's story will startle you for sure.
The Chinese national took great pains to ensure that he won't have to pay for the visitor's pass at the departure terminal 1A of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. The 29-year-old Cau fudged the e-ticket of his wife Lucy to the US so that he could see her off without a pass.

He entered the terminal along with his wife on Sunday afternoon upon showing his fake e-ticket and passport to the CISF officer manning the entry gate of the terminal. As he had both a ticket and a passport, the officer allowed him in. However, when he returned after seeing off his wife, Cau was asked to show the pass. He, however, produced the ticket.

"It made the guard suspicious and he raised an alarm. Cau was immediately detained for questioning," a senior police official told MiD DAY.

"When we asked why he hadn't bought a pass if he had come to see off his wife, he said he wanted to save the money. It is weird as the pass comes for just Rs 80," the official added.
"He had just changed the name, age and sex in his wife's e-ticket to make a new ticket."

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) OP Mishra just stopped short of calling it a security breach. Confirming

The Delhi Police, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and private security guards man the airport. There are also Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), special security vehicles and bunkers on the periphery of the airport to avert any disaster.
