The Congress on Monday criticised the Narendra Modi government over rising prices during the festive season, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi must answer how long ordinary citizens would have to endure what it described as an “economic catastrophe”.

The Opposition party alleged that inflation had spiralled out of control, blaming the government for the rising cost of living and accusing it of failing to deliver on its promise of “achhe din”.
