<p>The Congress on Wednesday moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident demanding the removal of Ajay Kumar Mishra as Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs.</p>
<p>MoS Home Ajay Kumar Mishra&rsquo;s son Ashish Mishra is the main accused in the incident that took the lives of eight people including four farmers, in October.</p>
<p>In his letter to Secretary-General of Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said, &ldquo;I hereby give notice of my intention to ask for leave to move a motion for the adjournment of the business of the house for the purpose of discussing a definite matter of urgent importance namely: the UP Police SIT report has highlighted that massacre of farmers at Lakhimpur was a pre-planned conspiracy and not a negligent act.&rdquo;</p>
<p>The SIT has recommended modification of lesser charges to attempt to murder against all the accused. It has also called the killing of the farmers a &ldquo;planned conspiracy&rdquo;.</p>
<h2>No data on lynching: Govt</h2>
<p>No separate data on people killed or injured by vigilante groups, mobs or crowds is maintained by the National Crime Records Bureau, Rajya Sabha was informed on Wednesday. Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said the government has generated public awareness to curb the menace of lynching.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Minister loses his cool, calls scribes &lsquo;thieves&rsquo;</h2>
<p>Lakhimpur Kheri: Union minister Ajay Mishra on Wednesday lost his cool and misbehaved with media persons at a function. He had come for the inauguration of an oxygen plant when a journalist asked him about the SIT adding charges in the Lakhimpur Kheri case. The minister got furious and asked the journalist, &ldquo;Dimag kharab hai?&rdquo; He tried to shut down the mobile phone of another journalist recording goings-on. Mishra also used expletives and threatened media persons present there before walking off. He referred to journalists as &ldquo;chor&rdquo;.</p>
