More than two months after an accident at an Eastern Freeway construction site at Wadala in July, which left one dead and seven others injured, a probe into the incident has concluded that the cause of the incident was technical and not human.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) appointed three-member committee to probe the accident at the Eastern Freeway construction site at Wadala in July, in which one labourer died and seven others were injured, has submitted its report. And the report, which took more than two months, gives a clean chit to the contractor Simplex Infrastructure and suggests he cause of the accident was technical and not human error.
Confirming the same, MMRDA Commissioner Rahul Asthana said, “The report submitted by the committee appointed by MMRDA to probe into the matter states that the reason behind the accident was technical and there was no fault on the part of the contractor working on the project.”
