File pic One of the cooks, who was part of the GM&rsquo;s crew inside the saloon, died mysteriously on the night of July 7. Sources in WR said that the authorities present inside the GM saloon realised in the dead of night that Munappa, the cook, was missing. &ldquo;As the train reached Virar, the pantry staff and other officials inside the train began searching for the cook, but he was nowhere to be found,&rdquo; said a senior WR official on condition of anonymity. They also contacted the stationmaster&rsquo;s offices between Virar and Vadodara to inquire about this missing cook. Soon after, the railway police and some WR officials found the body of Munappa near Vapi. &ldquo;The other staff working with Munappa said that he was a habitual drinker and that it is quite possible that he could have fallen out of the running train as the door was open in the middle of the night, while the others were sleeping,&rdquo; added the official. Sharat Chandrayan, chief PRO, WR confirmed the incident and said that the cook seemed to have accidentally fallen from the train. The authorities assume that the incident could have happened around 2 am while others were asleep. Sources added that the local police at Vapi are investigating it, apart from their own inquiry into the matter.
