The arrested policeman was identified as Amol Dhende. The complaint was registered at the Bundgarden police station by Salim Khan (44), the restaurant manager. The incident took place late in the night on April 26 at Metro Hotel near Pune railway station.u00a0

“Dhende reached the restaurant on April 26 and ordered a chicken and parantha. When the manager handed him the bill of Rs 270, Dhende asked him whether he didn’t know who he was and abused and slapped him, injuring his ear,” said Assistant Police Inspector Ashok Randive. “When other waiters came to the bill counter, Dhende thrashed and abused them as well.”u00a0
