Cop assault case: 2 MLAs get bail
Updated On: 25 March, 2013 02:26 PM IST | | Agencies
A local court today granted bail to two Maharashtra MLAs who had been arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer inside the state Legislature complex.
Metropolitan Magistrate U M Padwad, while granting bail to MLAs Ram Kadam and Kshitij Thakur, observed that their further custody was not required.
Both the MLAs had on Friday moved the bail application after the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police sought their judicial custody, saying that further investigation could not be carried out as traffic police sub-inspector Sachin Suryavanshi, whom they had allegedly assaulted, was not in a position to identify the accused.
