Cops: Combing operation on after Shirur Naxal arrests

After the arrest of 10 suspected Naxals from Shirur MIDC, the rural police detained 32 lobourers hailing from different states to verify their identity

After the arrest of 10 suspected Naxals from Shirur MIDC, the rural police detained 32 lobourers hailing from different states to verify their identity.u00a0Deputy SP Shankar Kengar said a combing operation was on to verify the identity of suspected labourers hailing from outside the state and to know whether they had police verification records from their native states.

The police also announced that action will be taken against all landlords if they fail to register their tenants with the police. The announcement was made in light of the discvery that the chawl owner who had rented out rooms to the suspected Naxal operatives had not shared information on his tenants with the police.
