Relief for Patanjali, SC declines to entertain plea against HC order

The top court also allowed the petitioner to pursue the matter in the Madras High Court, as it was informed that this matter was slated for hearing on September 3

The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to entertain a plea by Chennai-based firm assailing a Madras High Court order that stayed a Rs 10 lakh penalty on Patanjali Ayurved and restrained it from using the trademark Coronil.

A bench comprising Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and Justices A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian allowed the petitioner to withdraw the plea.
