The case of alleged forgery and cheating in land dealing by IRB — an infrastructure company — will be reopened now, as the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) at Wadgaon Maval has rejected the closure report filed by Pune rural police in the case.

The case, filed in October 2009 in connection with the land along Pune-Mumbai Expressway, was registered by slain RTI activist Satish Shetty (in pic).

This case, and the murder of Shetty in January 2010, are reportedly linked, as per the probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The agency had confirmed this before Bombay High Court last year.

The application of the CBI to probe this land-grabbing case is now pending with a division bench of the HC.
