Covid-19: Daily infections see slight drop in India

The death toll climbed to 4,54,269 with 561 fresh COVID fatalities. Kerala reconciled 399 deaths from the previous period. Hence, the death toll is higher, officials said

India added 15,906 new Covid-19 infections, slightly lower than the tally recorded the day before (16,326), and the active cases also declined to 1,72,594, according to the Union health ministry’s data updated on Sunday morning. The death toll climbed to 4,54,269 with 561 fresh Covid fatalities. Kerala reconciled 399 deaths from the previous period. Hence, the death toll is higher, officials said.

‘No food to unvaxxed’

The residents of Gaya, Bihar, who have not taken the Covid-19 vaccine will have to face legal action and they will not be entitled to receive food from government shops on subsidised rates, Abhishek Singh, the district magistrate of Gaya, has said in an order.
