Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have stepped up precautionary measures ahead of Cyclone Arnab’s expected landfall on Wednesday, October 28, shutting educational institutions in vulnerable areas, prohibiting fishing at sea and deploying rescue teams to minimise casualties and damage, news agency PTI reported.
In its Monday morning bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the deep depression over the east-central and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal had intensified into cyclonic storm Arnab.
