After an intense spell of rain in the last few days, heavy downpours have substantially eased across Odisha's Rayagada district as the influence of cyclone Arnab weakened. The weakened cyclonic condition allowed authorities to maintain a high alert despite receding immediate threats.
Cyclonic Storm ‘Arnab’ weakens into a deep depression, with further weakening likely today, says IMD. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the northwest Bay of Bengal and along and off the West Bengal coast. IMD issues an orange warning for very heavy rainfall in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Heavy rainfall is also forecast over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the next two days. #IMD #WeatherUpdate #CycloneArnab
